Overview

This is a full-time, hybrid career opportunity that can sit at a Fulton Bank location within the Fulton Bank footprint as follows: PA, NJ, MD, DE, VA, DC.  This role will require up to 20% travel.

 

The Strategic Asset Manager role exists to protect the institution from credit losses by actively managing underperforming or transitional commercial relationships and executing strategies that support remediation or exit.  By focusing on early risk detection and client engagement, this role addresses portfolio risk and supports healthier credit outcomes, contributing directly to institutional stability and performance.  This role may require occasional travel.



Responsibilities

    • Manage assigned commercial relationships exhibiting early signs of risk, non-strategic alignment, or marginal performance. Execute customized remediation or exit strategies.

    • Regularly review borrower performance, financial trends, and covenant compliance.

    • Engage in direct communication with borrowers to develop and execute remediation or exit plans. Ensure borrower understanding of triage and exit expectations, and coordinate directly with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers on client strategy. Document meetings, borrower discussions, and strategic milestones.

    • Utilize internal early warning indicators and field insights to drive credit monitoring. Identify and escalate credits that exhibit signs of deterioration beyond initial scope, participate in deal review discussions and recommend risk mitigation actions.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Credit, Lending and for portfolio reviews, asset quality meetings, and loan execution. Prepare and present reporting packages and risk summaries as needed.

    • Ensure all credit files, memos, and risk ratings are accurately updated. Regularly review borrower performance and financial trends. Complete and present marginal and criticized credits to requisite approval authority.

 



Qualifications

Education

Bachelor Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. (Required)

 

Experience

7 or more years Commercial Credit and Underwriting. (Required)

 

5 or more years Commercial Relationship Management or equivalent.  (Required)

 

3 or more years exposure to distressed credits, credit workout or transitional lending. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong financial analysis and credit structuring fundamentals (Required)

  • Effective communicator with borrowers and internal partners (Required)
  • Ability to balance empathy and discipline in borrower interactions (Required)

Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.

 

The salary range for this position is $111,100.00 - $185,100.00 annually.



Additional Compensation Components

 

This job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units. This job is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive compensation plan subject to individual and company performance.
